Rear Wheel Removal & Reinstallation
Step 1: Preliminary Steps 1.1. Ensure the bike is turned off and the battery is removed. 1.2. Press the power button on the display to discharge any additional energy in the system. 1.3. If you don't have a bike stand, carefully flip the bike upside down, placing a soft towel or blanket underneath the handlebars to protect the components.
Step 2: Unplug the Motor 2.1. Use snips or clippers to cut the zip-ties holding the motor cable to the frame. 2.2. Carefully unplug the motor cable, noting the arrows printed on the connector.
Step 3: Prep the Wheel for Removal 3.1. Use a wrench to loosen the bolts on both sides of the frame. 3.2. Remove the nut from the axle and slide it down the cable, along with the washer. 3.3. Carefully slide the derailleur guard down the cable.
Step 4: Remove the Wheel 4.1. Ensure the locking spacers are out of the way (use a flathead screwdriver if needed). 4.2. Carefully slide the derailleur out of the way, and let the wheel slide down the jaws of the frame.
Step 5: Reinstall the Wheel 5.1. Position the wheel below the bike. 5.2. Ensure the locking spacers are facing the correct way. 5.3. Slide the derailleur guard, washer, and nut onto the cable in that order.
Step 6: Install the Wheel 6.1. Lift the wheel and carefully move the derailleur and chain around the cassette. 6.2. Slide the wheel into position on the frame. 6.3. Slide the derailleur guard, washer, and nut onto the drive side of the axle. 6.4. Carefully tighten the bolts, ensuring everything fits correctly.
Step 7: Finish Up 7.1. Reconnect the motor cable, aligning the arrows on the connector. 7.2. Secure the cable to the frame using new zip-ties.
